The scars left behind by the terrible experience of sexual abuse during childhood is among the most difficult to heal, which impacts everything from how one perceives oneself, perception of relationships and other people in general. This special edition of support group aims at facilitating a discussion around the challenges of surviving sexual abuse. The gentle discussion will be centered around:
How the abuse has impacted one’s sense of self
How relationship with parents have been impacted
Struggles with experiences in the body
Difficulties in romantic relationship
Feeling unsafe and difficulties in establishing trusting relationships
How to escape the cycle of repeated feelings pertaining to the experience
How to rempower the self
